1620's Our religious heritage from Protestant Reformation brought to America by the Puritans.
1679 Congregational Church established in Westfield, Massachusetts.
1856 Dedication of church on Main Street.
1906 Membership at 573.
1931 Became Congregational Christian Church.
1944 Incorporation to "The Second Congregational Church in Westfield, Massachusetts.
1956 Centennial celebration. "Honor the Past by Progress in the Future."
1961 Affiliation with the United Church of Christ.
1962 Dedication of new building on Western Avenue.
1963 Name changed to "The United Church of Christ, Second Congregational, in Westfield, Massachusetts." (legally changed in 1974)
2006 150 years after our founding, we embrace our past while looking forward to new history being made day by day at Second Church. We entered the new millennium as a community of faith called to love and serve God by worshipping and growing together, reaching out in Christ to all creation.
