Meals on Wheels:
All of the home delivered meals for the Meals-On-Wheels Program are prepared at our Alton site and approved by a licensed dietician. All meals are delivered Monday through Friday, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. We do not deliver on holidays, but we will deliver a frozen meal the day before so you still get a meal for the day.
If you need meals on the weekend, two frozen meals can be delivered on Fridays.
Home-bound seniors age 60 or older may qualify to receive our Meals-On-Wheels service. To see if you qualify, the Southwestern Illinois Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) must perform an in-home assessment. This appointment can be made through Senior Services Plus, Inc. by calling (618) 465-3298 ext 107 or 111.
Spouses of home-bound seniors, regardless of age, may also qualify if approved by the VNA.
People under the age of 60 and disabled who would like to participate in the Meals-On-Wheels program may be eligible based on a Department of Human Services assessment.
