From Bondage to FREEDOM.... That is the story of the amazingly anointed singer/songwriter, Shelly Wilson. It has been almost 5 years since the Lord captured her heart and sat Shelly at the feet of complete surrender. Promise and hope began in reading the last page of a Bruce Wilkinson book... One moment she will never forget when the Lord spoke these words over her, 'I am giving you back your dream, now go use it for me." Her journey had just begun.
This journey for Shelly has seen many firsts by God's hand. She released her debut album 'In the Midst' with the title track enveloping the emotions and struggles the Lord saw her through in those recently past years. The album is placed in over 40 downloadable sites such as I-tunes, MSN Music, and Napster, to just name a few. In the summer of 2006, Lamon Records released her album single "Feelin Mighty Fine" to Radio and Wilson signed a publishing agreement with Moody Music Group in January of 2007.
Shelly is a member of the web community IndieHeaven.com where she has been nominated for Southern Gospel Artist of the Year for 2007. Shelly says, "There is nothing like being a part of an artist community whose sole purpose is to bring glory to God."
Upon the birth of her ministry, the Lord gave Shelly and her prayer group a scripture, Eph 3:20 "Now unto Him who is able to do immeasurably more than you could ever think or imagine, according to the power that worketh in us." Close to her heart is the desire to reach outside the church walls to share the love of Jesus Christ so that they too may know He
will do "immeasurably more" for them as well. The Lord has filled her heart for interdenominational women's ministry and the mountain of burdens the Lord wants to carry for them. That we ALL will walk in victory with the Lord Jesus.
I have been married for 17 years to my high school sweetheart and have 2 wonderful kids. I live in a small East Texas town and "love the small town atmosphere." "I love living where I know the teachers who take care of my children daily. I love having friends who have known me my whole life and watch our kids now play together. I can't imagine living anywhere else. This is our home and there is NOPLACE like home.
As my daughter says, I cry over every sad movie even if I have seen it a thousand times. I cry over commercials, other people's pain, and I cry a lot at the altar and during praise and worship just out of sheer joy and gratitude sometimes. I believe the Lord keeps my heart tender to better serve others.
I am burdened that many Christians are not experiencing the "fullness" of Jesus Christ and that many still do not know Him. I am burdened to share my struggles so others may learn and live. Jesus is REAL and EVERYONE is special to Him. His grace abounds no matter what your past holds. No one is "too lost" to be saved, redeemed, and given a special purpose in life. It is our heritage to claim in the name of Jesus!
