Early childhood education is literacy based. The individual skill level of each child is determined upon entry to school. The program is structured to provide all support for all students based on their level and their learning needs.

The district's elementary school has a comprehensive program in all academic areas, providing for acceleration and remediation. Special emphasis is placed on integrating the reading and writing processes. Laboratory instruction in Science is emphasized in the elementary curriculum.
