The Sierra County Arts Council is designated by the Sierra County Board of Supervisors as the local arts agency under the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program. The Arts Council's purpose is to promote, support, and advocate the arts throughout Sierra County. Incorporated in 1981, SCAC is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation.

Sierra County Arts Council currently consists of a volunteer board of directors, an advisory board, and its supporting members. SCAC relies upon the contributions of volunteers and the general public to ensure that programming efforts continue to grow and enhance the quality of life for the residents and visitors of Sierra County.
