Customers pre-pay monthly (or for the entire season if they wish) for the privilege of accessing our produce at their convenience. You may come once a week or once a day. You may harvest as much as you wish; we trust that our customers will honor the spirit of this agreement by harvesting only what is needed until the next farm visit. Assistance is available, just let is know when you plan to arrive. Please bring bags or boxes to trnsport your harvest.

Silver Wheel Farm is a "Certified Naturally Grown" farm run by husband and wife team Ben Shaevitz and Lori Sands. We specialize in lettuce and greens, and also offer a full range of vegetables and herbs as well as eggs from hens raised on pasture with certified-organic grains. We sell at the Farmer at Firehouse Market in Pittsburgh's Strip District on Saturdays from May - November. NEW! FRESH HARVEST PROGRAM 2011. Please see our website for details about this exciting new concept: a pick-your-own CSA! Customers pick only the produce that they want, only when they want it! Our two 96-foot high tunnels keep the season going into winter, and allow early harvests of spring lettuce and greens.
