The Township consists of 14,100 acres or over 22 square miles. The elevation ranges from 460 to 1,040 feet above sea level. Our population in the 2000 census was 8,383. The real estate tax rate is 6 mills, each property is assessed 1.5 mills for fire protection and all residents between the ages of 18 and 65 are assessed a $5.00 Per Capita Tax, with the exception of full time students.
