The collection contains over a quarter of a million items, including books, DVDs, CDs, audio books and computer software. Current periodical subscriptions total over 300 titles. The collection's strengths include aviation, law, nursing, Large Print titles and books written in French, Haitian Creole and Spanish. The Youth Services section has a vast collection of books for children and teens, including graphic novels and a special reference collection of Caldecott and Newberry award-winning books. Special features include: wireless printing, a 300-seat auditorium, Computer Center, Conference Room, faxing service (paid), quiet study room and tutoring rooms. The specially-engineered library possesses the unique distinction of being Broward County's first building constructed following the guidelines of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building System. It is also the County's first joint-use public/college facility, with something for everyone inside its energy-efficient walls.
