Founded in 1971 as South Hills Ambulance Service, it officially changed its name to SouthBridge Emergency Medical Services in 1991. Serving the communities of Bridgeville Boro, SouthFayetteTownship, and CollierTownship in AlleghenyCounty, and CecilTownship in Washington County, SouthBridge EMS responds to approximately 4,600 emergencies and non-emergencies annually.
In addition to emergency and non-emergency calls, SouthBridge EMS serves its community as a source for education and safety. We provide medical standbys to many of the local scholastic and children's athletic events, Ambulance tours to the many daycares and scouting troops, and CPR/AED and first aid training to the community.
We also serve as a Permanent Car Seat Fitting Station through Pennsylvania Traffic Injury Prevention Project (PA TIPP) a subsidiary of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We are one of six sites with such designation in the Commonwealth of Penssylvania.
