Mission Statement:

The mission of Spavinaw School is to work as active and responsible partners with parents and the community to prepare all students to achieve high standards and become lifelong learners. The aim of the school is to create an environment which recognizes and develops the full potential of individuals by helping students build character and respect diversity while enabling them to access, create and utilize knowledge. We believe that by modeling good moral character and teaching responsibility, we can develop citizens that can make a positive difference in the global community.

Tenets:
1. We believe that the expectations of the parents for academic success are a vital component in the educational process.
2. We believe that learning is a shared responsibility among all members of the school community.
3. We believe that children are our highest priority because they are our future and their needs should influence all our decisions.
4. We believe that caring, responsible citizens and decision makers are the end result of education.
5. We believe that all children have the capacity to learn and succeed and that it is our responsibility to nurture this ability.
6. We believe that to educate the whole child all areas of the curriculum are important with Language Arts as the basis for the development of academic and life skills.
7. We believe that a positive, caring, supportive learning environment is crucial to fostering positive self-esteem, creating mutual respect, encouraging risk taking, and achieving excellence.
8. We believe one must assume responsibility for one's actions, decisions, and choices and the resulting consequences.
9. We believe that the student should develop a feeling of ownership and pride in their academic and athletic achievements as well as respect for their school facilities.
