The Club was chartered in 1972 , being sponsored by the Shell Lake Lions Club. Our club has since sponsored the Spooner - Trego Lioness Club which was very active until they disbanded in 1996 when they joined the Spooner - Trego Lions Club.

Our club belongs to Wisconsin Lions District 27-E1, which is made up of the eight counties from Chippewa Falls to Superior and Hawkins and Stanley to the Minnesota border. Each district is divided into regions and further divided into zones. The Spooner - Trego Lions are in Region 1, Zone 2.
