About Us:
Springfield United Methodist Church is a friendly and welcoming, hometown church.
We serve communion on the first Sunday of the month during our morning services. Everyone is welcome to take communion at the Lord's table - no matter their history, denomination, or creed. Our ushers will release people by row to come to the altar, kneel, and receive a piece of bread (the body) and a cup of grape juice (the blood) from the ministers. After receiving, you return to your seat. The altar is always open before and after each service for you to spend time with The Lord in a time of prayer. Although we strongly encourage you to participate in Holy Communion, we completely understand if you choose not to.
The music at the 8:30 am service is "contemporary" with guitars, drums, keyboards and a full band that loves to lead in worship to God. The 11:00am service is a "traditional" Methodist service for those who connect to God through hymns and liturgy. We utilize both our piano and organ and hear great specials from the Springfield UMC Choir. The sermon in both services is identical and offers Bible-centered teaching that will challenge you and deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord. Between our two services, you are invited to our commons area to talk more with people you have met, grab a cup of coffee, and attend Sunday School.
