And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
In the Great Commission, Jesus calls every Christian to spread the Good News. This is the heart of our mission as part of the greater Christian community. We are compelled by Christ to share His gift of salvation with others. Through small steps of obedience, our spiritual lives are changed forever!
St. John's Mission Statement
The mission of St. John’s Episcopal Church is to love God and to demonstrate that love to all people by drawing them to Christ through worship, acts of service, and spiritual formation.
St. John's revised our mission statement in 2006. It is our first step toward redeveloping our parish, to better understand our relationship to God, with Christ, in the Holy Spirit and how this relationship calls us to action.
