Reverend Father John P. Kavcak, MSC, is a member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. He professed his first vows on September 13, 1967 and was ordained a priest on June 9, 1973 by Bishop Joseph McShea, D. D., in Nazareth PA. From 1973 to 1978, Father John was first assigned to St. Mary's Parish, Elgin, IL as a parochial vicar. He was then appointed vocation director until he received his assignment to the foreign missions of the society in Papua New Guinea in 1982. Father John returned to the States to continue formation and in 1989, he was appointed parochial vicar at St. Joseph Parish in Upland, CA. On January 1, 1992 he was appointed superior of the California MSC community. In 1999, he was appointed as pastor of Holy Family, in Nazareth PA.
On July 1, 2005 Father John was appointed to the parishes in Palm Springs, Our Lady of Solitude and Our Lady of Guadalupe. On July 1, 2013 he was appointed pastor of St. Theresa Parish and he continues to bless us with his homilies until today.
