Stone Wall Vegetables
Our focus is on popular annuals including but not limited too: lettuce, spinach, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and more.
In addition to crops that we harvest for the weekly share we also grow a number of Pick-Your-Own crops. These crops include peas, beans, cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, herbs, husk cherries, and flowers. In the spring of 2009 we will plant strawberries and raspberries for picking in future seasons.
You will be able to come to the farm once a week and pick a specified quantity of these crops when they are available. Shares will be boxed and available for pickup on Saturday's either at the farmers market in West Cornwall or at the farm. Enough food should be provided to feed two people who love vegetables or a family who enjoys salads and side dishes. I will be in touch about exact start and end dates as they are weather dependent.
We are a small diversified vegetable farm operating in the Litchfield Hills near the NY / MA border. We grow 35 different crops both heirloom and hybrid for our 20 week CSA season from mid-June through October. We grow organically but are not certified currently and don't have any immediate plans to seek certification. In addition to the CSA we sell at a local farmers market, at our location, and to some local natural food stores. We lease land from Stone Wall Dairy Farm.
Stone Wall Dairy Farm produces and sells raw milk from Jersey Cows. We deliver to 13 area stores and sell at our own location. We also have eggs from our chickens and sometimes meat from some of our animals.
