Mission:
Utilize all means available to meet the needs of every child assigned to Sutherland. Parents, volunteers, and the business community are a vital part of our school and assist us as we provide for the education of each child. Through the efforts of our staff, community, and volunteers, we work to ensure a healthy and wholesome learning environment, both physical and psychological.

Vision:
At Sutherland Elementary School, the motto is "We Cater to Little People." By catering to little people, we believe that we should prepare for our students a means by which they will be able to succeed, provide an education that will give them the ability to evaluate change, and be able to meet the challenges of the future. Our students will have a sound foundation in the core subjects of reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Technology will be used to enhance learning and every effort will be made to prepare our students to live in a global community.
