The Farm at Kraut Run markets its produce directly to customers through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription program.
Community Supported Agriculture consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farming operation where the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production. The members pledge to purchase a subscription at the beginning of the season which pays for the farms operating expenses, in turn, receiving a weekly share of the farms harvest.
Community Supported Agriculture is not about cheap food, it is about passion for better living, optimal health, a sense of community, and a concern for the environment.
Our Summer CSA begins in mid-May and runs for 22 weeks. Depending on conditions, the weeks may not be consecutive.
Each weekly share contains a variety of 8-12 vegetables, fruits and herbs.
Produce is packed in boxes and will be ready for pick-up at the farm weekly.
Full subscription memberships cost $990 per season. A limited number of work-shares are available upon request.
We do not offer half subscriptions. Consider splitting a subscription with another family.
Our farm is managed using sustainable organic growing practices and most work is done by hand in order to minimize our ecological footprint.
We are a small family farm that uses sustainable organic growing practices. We sell our produce through a 50 member CSA and offer educational programs on and offsite. We also offer garden consultation and gardening classes.
