The mission of The Presbyterian Church of La Porte is to glorify God with thanksgiving, nurture a community of believers, and welcome one and all to experience God’s wisdom and grace, the Holy Spirit’s strength and guidance, and Christ’s redeeming love.

The Presbyterian Church of La Porte is a church that places primary emphasis on God-centered worship which is authentic and calls for the commitment of soul, strength and mind.

It is a celebrating church, receiving and sharing God’s grace and promoting joyful thanksgiving

It is a hospitable church, welcoming and embracing all who want or need a church family or spiritual support

It is a teaching church, nurturing the growth of its members and friends through study and prayer.

It is an empowering church, equipping its members and friends for good stewardship and fulfilling lives which are guided by the scriptures

It is an outreaching church, concerned about the people and the community it serves, the nation and the world

It is a resourceful church, calling for all its people to joyfully give time, talent and treasure to glorify God

It is a resilient church, prepared to handle both crises and joys, and encouraging open, honest communication and expression of human emotions. This is the type of church where a good belly laugh can not only be tolerated—it can be celebrated!

It is a covenant church, which takes its obligations to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and other commitments it makes very seriously.
