The Chester Soccer Club was organized under the auspices of the Chester Police Athletic Association. Its club colors were red and yellow. The individual teams of the CSC were all called the Cannons, while each of the teams of the WMSC are all separately named.
The Mendham Soccer Club was incorporated in 1976. Its colors were maroon and gold until 1997, when the colors were changed to Blue and Gold.
The West Morris Soccer Club's current patch takes its colors from its constituent clubs. Red, from Chester, is the color of West Morris Travel Teams' stockings and alternate shirt, while the navy blue from Mendham is the main color of our shorts and primary jersey. The team's colors are the same as the West Morris Mendham High School team colors where most of the boys and girls from the West Morris SC eventually play.
The West Morris Soccer Club is a non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey in 1976 as the Mendham Soccer Club. Our name was changed in 1999 to its present form upon the merger with the Chester Soccer Club, an unincorporated entity then operating under the auspices of the Chester Police Athletic Association. WMSC falls under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, the non-refundable donation a parent makes to the Club, in lieu of choosing to volunteer his time, might be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. The registration fee might not be deductible because it is in exchange for goods and services. Our tax ID # is 22-2503872 for those who are taking the cost of Summer Camp as deductible expense. The Club does not provide tax advice and you should seek out the advice of an accountant.
