Who We Are
Our group includes new moms and dads, empty nesters, retirees, and of course people who are new to town.
What We Do
Our group brings together residents of Topsfield and Boxford through a variety of social, cultural, and community service activities Founded in 1974, we provide a great way for new and long-time members of the community to meet others who share similar interests as well as discover new ones. We have interests and activities for everybody.
Walking and hiking groups, Playgroups, Family Events and Activities, Ladies’ Nights Out, Knitting/Needling, Community Service and Special Holiday Events are just some of the activities we plan regularly.
Monthly meetings
The Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month and some meetings have an interesting topic or speaker. Some of our upcoming meetings include a yoga session, pottery craft lesson, a clairvoyant, and a recipe swap. Aside from our monthly meetings, we offer many activities and events for adults and children such as dinners, wine and beer tastings, book group, baby-sitting club, and weekend family activities.
Community involvement
Newcomers is also very active with community service projects which have benefited local organizations such as the Annual Seniors Social, and a Scholarship that is given to the Masconomet High School for a college bound student, and more. The various activities that Newcomers offers allows its members the opportunity to become involved with the community with little time or commitment. Some members squeeze as many activities in as possible, while others opt for an occasion social or monthly meeting.
