Tranquility Farm Equestrian brings together rescued horses and hurting people and helps them heal each other.
They meet on a 35 acre lovely horse farm in Culpeper, Virginia with beautiful barns, stalls, a freshwater stocked pond, 4 board lovely, huge fenced paddocks with excellent grass year-round, a heated tack-room, hot water in the barns, Nelson waterers in each of the four fields, an outdoor arena and more. The most important part is the rescued horses and the calm tranquility that exists in this organization which is the perfect medium for the healing process to begin… The nonprofit has moved from Maryland to Virginia in April of 2012 and we are thrilled to be serving Northern Virginia while keeping our old friends from Maryland and adjacent states. Our emphasis is on facilitating the healing process from all kinds of trauma whether it be the aftereffects of war, violence, illness or loss. The current research shows horses particularly adept at this process of achieving optimal health for the individual and practical experience over the ages only confirms this fact. Rescued horses are even more able in promoting health and well-being as they innately seem to know(due to their trauma) what it feels like to the human to be lost, fearful and without hope.
