Mission :
To be a congregation of one pastor and every member a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
About Us:
As a congregation we have been engaged in the hearing of Matthew's "Sermon on the Mount". It is a reading which begins in Matthew's Gospel, chapter 5 verse 1 and continues through chapter 7 verse 28. It is the first of five discourses found in Matthew, featuring Jesus as he tells us of the Kingdom of Heaven. The hearing of the discourse is spread over six weeks and lends itself to being told as a series. Each week's sermon begins with a recap of the past week's teaching and then moves forward to hear Jesus' new teaching.
Our Bishop begins the process by asking each of the local congregations to fill out a Pastoral Advisory Form. This form allows the congregation to share their wishes concerning their clergy leadership for the coming year. As United Methodist we are reminded that the Bishop is the one who appoints pastors, he alone makes this decision. So be in prayer over the next several months as together we discern where God is leading us, and what type of pastoral leader we need to be faithful to God's call.
