To honor our founders who came from various areas of Greece and settled on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in spite of the drastically different climate, our parish hosts this annual festival. Over two days, on the second weekend of July, we celebrate the Orthodox Christian faith and the vibrant Greek culture and traditions that these brave pioneers planted here in Duluth, their new home.
The greatest and most appetizing part of the festival is undoubtedly the delicious and unique Greek foods and pastries. We consider of greater significance the opportunity to experience and learn about the Orthodox Christian faith and worship, and the traditional Greek dancing and music. The festival also includes the Greek Boutique at which you can browse and purchase books, CDs, jewelery, icons, artifacts, and even clothing. Please click on the pages to your left for more details.
The organization of such a large scale event requires tremendous work and dedication on the part of numerous parishioners who volunteer countless hours. Please know that we truly appreciate your support as the funds generated support the ministries of our parish. More importantly however, through this event our parishioners come together to live out Christ's call to hospitality. We love seeing so many wonderful people come year after year to enjoy being Greek for a weekend. The festival is a Free Adminission event so come, bring your family, and invite your friends.
This year marks a major change. The Taste of Greece remains a ministry of Twelve Holy Apostles Church, but due to the limitations of our Church property we have decided to move the festival to Marshall School at 1215 Rice Lake Road. This move improves many aspects of the festival such as: indoor dining area, ample parking, kids play area and others. We are sad that we will no longer be able to offer tours of our beautiful Church during the two days of the festival but we warmly invite all of you to come and visit us at any other time and be sure to ask for a complete tour. We would love to have you come to see our Church.
See you at the Taste of Greece on Sat, Jul 10 & Sun, Jul 11!
