History
Twin Valley Baptist Church began as a Thursday evening Bible study in the garage of Randy and Sue Smith. For several years they and a handful of other area residents carpooled to Cornerstone Baptist Church (which merged with Dayton Baptist Temple in 2001 and is now known as Cornerstone Baptist Temple) in Dayton, Ohio. Randy taught Sunday school classes for 3 years and sat under the preaching of Pastors Jerry Siler and Bill Wilson for 6 years. In the summer of 1998, Pastor Smith and his wife felt the call to begin a new work in the West Alexandria area, and Twin Valley Baptist Church was formed. July 2, 1998 was the first service, held in the garage at their home. A few months later TVBC began renting a larger facility until June of 2001. From June of 2001 to mid-August, 2002 they rented Third Street School in West Alexandria. September 1, 2002 was the first service in the small church God has provided, located just outside Eaton. In 2003 Twin Valley Baptist entered into a land contract agreement to purchase the church and the 3 1/2 acres it sits on. In 2006 they constructed a building to house Sunday school classes. The first missionary was taken on when the church was still a Bible study, and they now support 24 missionaries. God is blessing their work with many salvations and seeds planted.
