Tyler Elementary School was named after Squire Allen Tyler. He was a native of DeKalb. He gave of his time and energies unselfishly to the School Board and was very active in promoting youth endeavors, such as 4-H Clubs.
S.A. Tyler Elementary School, located at 1021 Alden Circle Drive, is a small neighborhood school of approximately 225 students, grades K-5. We have two sections of each grade. The size of our school allows our staff to become very familiar with all of our students. It is like a big extended family. At Tyler, we have a very active and involved PTO. The PTO plans and coordinates many exciting and educational activities for our children. Our book fairs, fun fair, family literacy night, pumpkin decorating night, multi-age celebrations, and spirit day assemblies are some of the great events supported through our staff and PTO. We certainly welcome our parents and community members to become involved and encourage you to visit our school anytime.
