About
Centrally located in Kendall County, Illinois, the United City of Yorkville's current population is just slightly over 17,000 residents.
Rich in history and heritage, Yorkville’s small town charm remains to be a cornerstone of the community. Residents are proud of the past and are looking forward to the city's bright future. The United City of Yorkville was built on a solid foundation of community spirit. The United city of Yorkville was incorporated in 1957 when the cities of Bristol and Yorkville came together as one. Yorkville celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007.
This year, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), Yorkville is adding a new Whitewater Park to the downtown area. This state-of-the-art recreational facility on the river contains a 600 foot-long bypass chute that will allow canoes, kayaks, and tubers to travel downstream around the Glen D. Palmer Dame safely without having to portage.
