The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has been promoting boating safety
stewardship since it was established by Congress in 1939. We offer voluntary
vessel safety checks, conduct lake safety patrol, search and rescue, protect
our marine environment and conduct public safe boating classes.
On Saturday, April 5, 2014, the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be holding a Boating
Safety Class titled "About Boating Safely" at DiVentures located at 5224 S. Campbell
in Springfield, MO. Subjects covered will be, Knowing Your Boat, Federal and
State Regulations, Required Safety Equipment, Maritime Navigation and How to
Handle Boating Emergencies, to mention a few. The class will begin at 9am
and end approximately 5pm.
Completion of this class satisfies the boating safety class requirement in order
to obtain a Missouri Safe Boater Certification card. Anyone born after January 1,
1984 is required to attend a boater safety training and possess this card when
operating a vessel on Missouri lakes.
The cost of the class is free, however if the student would like to purchase the
material for future reference, the cost is $15.00.
If you would like to reserve a place in the upcoming class, please contact
Auxiliarist Danny Mullen, USCG Aux at
