The Venice Area Quilters Guild was founded in 1983. There are currently over 300 members. Many members participate in "mini-groups" or "circles" with special interests or neighborhoods in common. The guild's meetings and events are held at the Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Avenue, Venice, FL 34285. Membership meetings are usually held at 7:00pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month from September to April. Current information is posted on our website: www.vaqg.org. There are informal drop-in quilting sessions held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 9-2 all year plus on the 4th Wednesday in the summer months. The guild offers classes with professional nationally known teachers most months from September to April. Visit our "Classes" page on the website for current offerings. We hold our biennial quilt show "Quilting by the Gulf" in the "even" years and an instructional quilting retreat in the odd years. The guild is involved in many charitable endeavors.
