Our VITAS Volunteers provide services such as:

• Companionship for patients in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, their own homes or at our VITAS In-patient Hospice Unit.
• Respite care to give a family caregiver a much-needed break.
•  Reading, looking through photo albums and reminiscing in memory care units and the like.
• Visiting with our countries veterans via our Veteran to Veteran program.
• Spiritual care-bringing hope, love, meaning, acceptance and dignity to our diverse population through poetry, special readings, letter writing, prayer and meditation.  
• Complementary therapies such as Reiki, therapeutic touch, massage or aroma therapy.

Taking your pet to visit patients in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or hospitals. Pets must have up-to-date shots and be evaluated by a VITAS staff member or trained volunteer. Pet therapy or CGC certification preferred but not required.

Training is free; orientation is ongoing.
