History
The first worship services were in April 1956, in the American Legion Hall located on Highway 47 which has since been torn down and a Sinclair service station sits on the property just north of Interstate 70. The church continued to meet there until July 1956. Then they moved to a hall above what was then called the Clover Farm Store on Main Street and later an A&G supermarket opened at that location. The church continued to meet there until June 1961. Property was obtained at the present location of McKinley and East Flora in 1961. A basement for the new building was poured and prepared suitable for use as a meeting place until April 1965 when the new building was completed. It started with six members and Jack Duncan and others drove from St. Charles, and St Louis, Missouri to do the preaching in those first few years.
