The Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) serves the educational, business, and networking needs of community associations in 20 cities/counties in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Members include condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations. The Washington Metropolitan Chapter, a national, nonprofit 501(c)(6) association created in 1973 has more 2,600 members including 400 businesses, 200 professsional managers from 100 management companies, and community colunteers from more than 800 associations representing 260,000 households. The chapter is one of 56 Community Associations Institute chapters and is the largest in the nation. The Institute is dedicated to fostering vibrant, responsive, competent community associations that promote harmony, community and responsible leadership
WMCCAI is a multidisciplinary alliance serving all stakeholders in community associations. WMCCAI members include condominium and homeowner associations, cooperatives and association-governed planned communities of all sizes and architectural types; individual homeowners; community association managers and management firms; public officials; and lawyers, accountants, engineers, reserve specialists, builder/ developers and other providers of professional services and products for community associations.
