Washington Preservation is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving the culture, history and achitecture of the Washington community and area. They are caretakers of the Kohmueller farm in the park, a circa 1880s German emigrant homestead, Each year living history events, German-American Day, are held on the first Sunday in October to celebrate the tremendous wealth of German history found in Washington. On the second Sunday in December Washington Preservation hosts Washington's Wheinachten with their Holiday House tour! Six area historic homes are featured on this wonderful home tour.
