Mission :

God is busy restoring run away people back to Himself in Christ (2 Cointhians 5:19) ... and He has enlisted the restored to get the message out that we can come back to God without fear of punishment.

History :

We are a 300 year old congregation.  It's true!  As part of the original Mennonite Church, this congregation was first established back in 1703 in what is now known as Lower Skippack Mennonite Church.  But in 1848 the denomination split into two: the Mennonite Church [MC] and the General Conference Mennonite Church [GCMC].  The group that stayed with the original denomination (MC) moved to the present location and started Upper Skippack Mennonite Church--now known as Wellspring Church of Skippack.  It's interesting to note that the two denominations have recently (in the past few years) become one again.  The denomination is now The Mennonite Church U.S.A.  Lower Skippack Mennonite Church has chosen to remain as an independent church not affiliated with any particular Mennonite Denomination.
