Michael Lynn was born & raised in Durham, North Carolina.  He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 13, while traveling home from church on one of their buses.  Michael surrendered to preach at the age of 17 & prepared for ministry by completing both a B.A. & M.A. in Bible.  He met his wife-to-be, Gwendolyn Heflin, at a Bible camp in Seven Fountains, Virginia.  They were married in July of 1976 & have been blessed with 5 children & 3 grand-daughters.  Michael has continued his education by completing a Master of Ministry degree, & is currently working on a Doctor of Sacred Ministry degree.  Our pastor began his ministry in 1978 as the founding pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Gorham, Maine.  He later pastored churches in Nova Scotia, Canada, again in Maine, Pennsylvania, & North Carolina.  He became the pastor of WHBC in April of 2012.
