History :
With 71 charter members, the West Missionary Church was founded on August 29, 1898. The church was organized the day following a Missionary Convention, and has always maintained a strong missionary emphasis.
At its beginning the church was known as the Linn Grove Missionary Church. The name was changed in 1936 to West Missionary Church. The bell-marker in the present church parking area marks the site of the first church of the Missionary Church Association The plaque reads: "Original site of the Linn Grove Missionary Church, the first of the Missionary Church Association. Organized, August 29, 1898: Dedicated, September 10, 1899."
The current structure, which was dedicated in 1959, had a large addition completed in 1994 to accommodate growth, and improve facilities. West Missionary Church has grown substantially from the original 71 members, and we give Him all of the praise and glory.
West Missionary Church looks confidently and expectantly to the future. Past blessings assure future possibilities for a people who know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
