WPTE sets out to be an element of change in the economic atmosphere of the Lawrence community by working to lessen the unemployment rate.

Mission

To supply unemployed women the tools needed to build confidence in the interview and become more employable.

How

We work with local organizations related to the social and career services to target their low-income/unemployed, female clients. All of the clothing, shoes, and accessories that we distribute to the referred clients are collected through donations.

Women who have been referred to us by the local organizations are those who are actively seeking work. We take some size information beforehand and then we organize multiple outfits so that on the day of delivery, a personal shopper can be assigned to the client and offer several options in hopes of finding one outfit that is most appropriate for the client's upcoming interview.
