The Wright Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit voluntary membership organization of businesses and professional people and individuals who work together to build and sustain a better community in which to live and in which to conduct business.
History:
Wright, Wyoming was founded in 1976 and incorporated in 1985. It is a close-knit community of about 1500 - 1800 pioneers of the new energy frontier. Wright is located at the junction of highways 59 and 387 in the heart of the Powder River Basin.
The economy of this basin is spurred by energy development consisting of agriculture, oil, gas and coal. Tours are available at area mines and also the nearby buffalo ranch.
A "Sunday Drive" though the area provides a unique opportunity to observe abundant wildlife, including pronghorn, antelope, mule deer, whitetail deer, American buffalo, elk, and many other wildlife species.
Northeastern Wyoming offers varied recreational activities such as hiking, climbing, backpacking, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, snow skiing, hunting and fishing.
