About The Chamber
The Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce, through its Board of Directors and staff, serves many purposes. It has been working for the total economic development of this area for over 50 years. The eighteen Directors representing all sections of Bland and Wythe Counties and the members serving on the committees, give unselfishly of their time toward the enrichment of our area. The Chamber staff consists of an Executive Director and one full-time Administrative Assistant.
The citizens of Wytheville and Wythe County organized the Wytheville Chamber of Commerce in June 1946 and changed the name in August 1946 to the Wythe County Chamber of Commerce, since it was organized to promote Wytheville and Wythe County. Bland County became affiliated with the Chamber in 1976. The Chamber of Commerce became officially recognized by the State Corporation as the Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce, Inc. on March 1, 1976.
Although the generally accepted primary purpose of the Chamber of Commerce is to develop the maximum of the economic potential of a community, it must also be active in all aspects of community life--since all of these have a vital effect on economic progress.
