The preschool’s days of operation follow the calendar of Zion Lutheran School. Day care is available before school (7:00—8:15) and after school (12:15—5:00).
Philosophy At Zion Lutheran Preschool, we believe that every child is worthy of respect and is a capable learner. We provide a Christian learning environment where children are nurtured emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our program encourages children to become fully involved in each day’s activities and provides a multitude of experiences that foster social development, creative expression, cognitive growth and world discovery. Throughout each preschool day, the children are encouraged to grow closer to Jesus, by develop an understanding of our need for forgiveness and find joy in the gift of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Daily prayers, mealtime devotions, Bible stories and a curriculum infused with Christian values offer many opportunities for early spiritual growth. As a ministry of Zion Lutheran Church, the preschool serves the community by providing a Christ-centered environment where children and their families can learn about entering into a personal saving relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Curriculum Each Zion Lutheran Preschool classroom is a family of children, teachers and parents who work and play together over the course of the ten month school year. Our combination approach of projects and centers fosters the development of each child through activities in the areas of language, pre-math and science, the arts and physical activity. The age-appropriate emergence of pre-academic skills is nurtured and encouraged. Daily classroom experiences provide opportunities for problem solving, creative thinking, fluent self expression, critical thinking, group interaction and personal independence: all essential learning skills. Learning opportunities are offered in response to each child’s readiness.
