United Way of King County is recruiting volunteers for Bridge to Basics! Many low-income families and individuals in King County are unaware of the government assistance for which they qualify - assistance that may help them achieve financial stability. Bridge to Basics is a unique program in King County in which volunteers throughout the community help people sign up for the public benefits they need and deserve. The program focuses on applications for Basic Food (food stamps), utility assistance and affordable healthcare. Accessing these benefits can help beneficiaries put food on the table and keep the heat on during this cold winter! You can be a part of our next season, which runs from January to April 15th! You don't need any experience (we have a one-day training in early January) Volunteers need an outgoing personality and a willingness to learn. Proficiency in a second language is desired but not required. Visit our website to sign up! If you have any questions, contact Ed Posnock at [email protected] or 206-707-2573.
