Dr. William Mac Farlane, Director of the Center for Psychiatric Research at the Maine Medical Center and Professsor at Tufts University School of Medicine,  will be discussing his research on prevention of major mental illness by treating adolescents who have very early symptoms.   He has done research in many states including in Washtenaw County with the Michigan Prodromal Progression Prevention.  We would like inform and inspire school personnel, leaders of youth, community leaders, and the community to embrace an early treatment to prevent the disability and involvement in the criminal system of persons with major mental illness.
