STONESTOWN GALLERIA WELCOMES THE YEAR OF THE TIGER WITH A CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION Traditional Lion Dance Classes And Red Envelope Give-Aways With Retailer Gift Cards For 1,000 Shoppers WHAT: Stonestown Galleria invites the community to ring in the Chinese Lunar New Year and celebrate the Year of the Tiger as the center hosts a celebratory event where the traditional Lion Dance will be performed and FREE Lion Dance classes will be offered to children of all ages. During the Lion Dance, 1,000 red envelopes filled with exclusive retailer offers and Chinese New Year temporary tattoos will be distributed to the crowd. Random, lucky shoppers may receive Stonestown Galleria or retailer gift cards of $5 and $10 in their red envelope. The celebration performances and FREE classes will be provided by Lorraine Yee with Jing Mo Athletic Association, a San Francisco based martial arts group that has performed in the Bay Area for over 30 years. The group began in the early 1900’s with the unique teaching of all Chinese kung fu styles all under one roof and their story has been featured in movies including Bruce Lee’s “Chinese Connection”. Shoppers are also welcome to bring their own cameras to take pictures with the Lion and participate in a lantern-making class. Chinese Lunar New Year Traditions: ?
