Dr. Swender, a Marshall native, joined the Oaklawn medical staff in 2012. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his residency and served as chief resident in Pediatrics at nationwide children’s Hospital/Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. After completing residency, he pursued an Allergy/Immunology fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland.
He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Michigan Asthma and Allergy Society. He is involved in the exam writing committee for the Osteopathic Pediatric/Adult Allergy and Immunology Board exam. He sees both adults and children for a variety of allergic and immunologic conditions, including allergies, asthma, food allergies and immunodeficiency.
