Pete Whelan joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in November 2005, following a 20-year career in the United States Air Force. There, he served in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as an F-15 Strike Eagle instructor pilot and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Pete earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from East Carolina University. He holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 securities licenses plus state life health, long-term care and property and casualty insurance licenses in multiple states. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Married with a son and daughter, Pete is a member of the Knights of Columbus and Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and he is active in the Greenville March of Dimes. His interests include furniture making and bicycle riding.
