Richard "Tate" Young joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 1994, following nine years of service in the United States Marine Corps. There, he attained the rank of Captain and served in the 1990-91 Persian Gulf War.
A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in International Relations, Tate holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 securities licenses plus life, health, fire and property and casualty insurance licenses in California. He is a Certified Financial Planner & Trade certificant, a member of the Financial Planning Association, and a member of GAMA International, an association dedicated to the professional development of members of the insurance and financial services industry.

Married with two children, Tate is a member of the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee and the board of directors for the Fallbrook Pop Warner Youth Football League.
