Dr. Gordon Powers is a family medicine physician at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. He specializes in basic outpatient procedures and takes particular interest in preventative medicine, mental health, diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Powers says that “in my mind, the doctor-patient relationship is a true partnership that is built over time.” He wants his patients to feel heard, no matter their worry. Dr. Powers values the opportunity to address both physical and emotional concerns. As a family medicine physician, he enjoys taking care of multiple members from the same family (“even across several generations!”).
Dr. Powers also serves as an assistant professor of family medicine for the UVM Larner College of Medicine. His research interests include quality improvement, improving transitions of care and medical education.
