Jennifer Shum, MD is a board-certified neurologist and epileptologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Shum specializes in epilepsy and other neurologic conditions such as headaches, dementia, cognitive impairment, and neuromuscular disease. She obtained her medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her neurology residency at Stanford Hospital. She went on to complete her epilepsy fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center. She is an accomplished clinician researcher and has received several awards including the Whitaker Foundation Research Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering and the American Epilepsy Society Research Fellowship for Clinicians. She has published in scientific and medical journals, including Neurology, Seizure, the Journal for Neuroscience, and Nature. She is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society.
