Dr. Morteza Azimian specializes in rheumatology and has been with Piedmont since 2015. Board-certified in rheumatology and a longtime member of the American College of Rheumatology, he completed his rheumatology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois Chicago-affiliated St Joseph Hospital. Dr. Azimian has earned University Diplomas from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, France and his medical degree from Tehran University. He has served as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and is the recipient of several awards including Vanderbilt University Thomas E. Brittingham Award in recognition of Excellence in Clinical Education and the Outstanding Rheumatology Fellow Teaching Award. In his spare time, Dr. Azimian enjoys reading, hiking and skiing. Dr. Azimian welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
