Dr. Zirkel is board certified in podiatric surgery. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI and earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic and Medical Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He then went on to complete his residency in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at St. John North Shore Hospital in Harrison Township, MI.
Dr. Zirkel practices at the SSM Health Dean Medical Group Clinics in Baraboo and Dodgeville, WI. He also sees patients at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo and at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.
Dr. Zirkel's practice is focused on wound/ulcer care, fractures, sports medicine, and diabetic care. His medical interests also include treatment for bunions, bursitis, cortisone injections, midfoot and forefoot surgery, osteomyelitis, strains and sprains, and tendonitis.
Dr. Zirkel is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Wisconsin Podiatric Medical Society. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
He is married and has two children; they also have a cat named Naan. He likes to spend time with his family, cooking, and bicycling. They also like to travel with a favorite being a visit to China.
