From: Flint School of Performing Arts** TwinkleFest 2025**
It's TwinkleFest 250 and you're invited!
Our goal is to collect over 250 short videos of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
All ages are welcome. Your video can be solo or as a group. It can be sung, played, danced, acted, basketball dribbled, flash-mobbed, bell-choired, or any other art form you can think of. All genres are welcome. Think gospel, classical, opera, country, bagpipes, line dancing, hip-hop, foreign language, etc.
For now, this is open to FSPA Families - a creative bunch!
In January, we will open submissions to the broader Genesee County community.
The goal: to create a playlist of all the videos and use them to help celebrate Flint, our community, and the 250th Anniversary of the USA.

Piano Workshop for FSPA Students

Free and Open to the Public
Julliard graduate and Grammy Nominee Marika Bournaki will offer a piano workshop with performances by FSPA students ahead of her Saturday, October 11th performance of Ravel's Piano Concerto with the Flint Symphony Orchestra at the Whiting Auditorium.
Flint Symphony Orchestra Backstage Pass
Attention all students age 10 and older, you are invited to come backstage during the intermission of all FSO classical concerts.
You will meet the FSO musicians, and check out
the behind the scenes activity, all while enjoying Enzos pizza.
Look for the Patron Engagement table before the concert to get your pass.

Brandon Z. Smith is one of two songwriting instructors at FSPA, an exciting new addition to the private lesson offerings of the school. A singer-songwriter, Brandon will present an evening of original songs, along with covers of hits by Harry Nilsson, The Cure, and Leonard Cohen.
Register once and receive a free pass for your entire household to attend each FSPA Faculty Concert and FSPA & FSO Chamber Series - Music on the Lawn performances for FIM 2025-26 Season.

Term 2 is coming!
Term 2 registration will open Monday, October 6, 2025.
Tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.
Once registration, with tuition and fees paid, students may attend classes, lessons or ensembles.
The FSPA Office will not automatically enroll students at the start of a new term or semester.

Performing is a great way to stay motivated and improve your skills, while sharing your talent with others. School-Wide Recitals are open to all ages and skill levels. Talk with your music lesson instructor and use the form below to sign up for a recital.

Marcia W. Dort String Scholarship
Any violin, viola, cello, or bass player who has turned 14 by September 1, 2025, will not have turned 19 by September 1, 2026, and is a member of the Flint Youth Philarmonia or Flint Youth Symphony Orchestra may apply.

Tuition Assistance Program
All previous recipients of Tuition Assistance must reapply if you wish to receive assistance for the 2025-2026 school year.
After Tuition Assistance is determined and a student is registered, the remaining balance must be paid before programs begin.
Fund for Student Needs
The Flint School of Performing Arts Fund for Student Needs has been established to provide additional support beyond tuition assistance to ensure students' continued success in their studies and performances. The Fund for Student Needs may provide for the following needs related to FSPA lessons, classes, ensembles, and performances:

Practice Room Policy
Practice rooms are available for current FSPA students with 24-hour request notice. Rooms are limited and may not be available at all times.
Please contact Paula in the FSPA Office at 810.238.1350, ext. 3124, if you are interested in reserving a room for practice.
Attention FSPA Families
We know that the FSPA is a place of many special memories for our students. If your student would like to have their Senior Pictures(or any professional photos) taken in the Dort Music Center, it must be approved in advance. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate "walk-ins" or last minute requests to use the building due to the full schedule of programs and activities. Please contact Paula in the FSPA Office for additional information.
